Consent and Stored Choices
Last updated: October 2026
Cookie notices are everywhere, and most of them hide a long list of trackers. Ours is much shorter. This page explains what the small consent notice on Wellbeing Notes does, what gets stored on your device and how to reverse your decision whenever you like.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website can place in your browser. Some help a site work, for example by remembering what is in a shopping basket. Others are used to measure visits, show adverts or follow people across different websites. Browsers also offer a similar feature called local storage, which lets a site keep a small note on your device.
What we use
| What is stored | Where | Why | Kept until |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consent choice | Local storage in your browser | Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so the notice does not show on every page | Until you clear your browser's site data |
That is the complete list. We do not set analytics cookies, advertising cookies or social media cookies, and we do not load third-party scripts that would set them for us. The note about your choice is stored only on your own device and is not sent to us.
Why ask at all?
Since we do not use optional cookies, you might wonder why the notice appears. We prefer to be upfront: it confirms that nothing optional is running and gives you a clear way to say no. If the site ever introduced anything that needed your permission, it would stay switched off until you agreed, and this page would be updated first.
Changing your mind
You can reset your choice at any time:
- In your browser, go to settings and look for the area covering privacy or stored site data.
- Search for this website's address in the list of stored site data.
- Remove the stored data for the site.
- Reload any page and the consent notice will appear again so you can choose afresh.
Private or incognito windows usually forget the choice when you close them, so the notice may show again on your next visit.
Content from elsewhere
If you follow a link from one of our articles to another website, that site may use its own cookies under its own policy. We have no control over those, so it is worth checking their notice when you arrive.
